Equipment

  • Coffee maker (drip, pour-over, or French press)
  • Espresso machine (or stovetop espresso maker)
  • Coffee grinder (optional, if using whole beans)
  • Measuring cups or a kitchen scale (for precise measurements)
  • Coffee mug or cup for serving

Ingredients

  • 8 oz brewed coffee 240 ml
  • 2 shots espresso (approximately 2 oz or 60 ml total)

Instructions

  • Brew The Coffee
Brew 8 oz (240 ml) of strong coffee using your preferred method (drip, French press, or pour-over). For best results, use freshly ground coffee and filtered water.
  • Prepare The Espresso Shots
Brew 2 shots of espresso (about 2 oz or 60 ml) using an espresso machine or stovetop maker. Grind fresh coffee beans finely and follow your espresso maker's instructions to brew. Set the shots aside for combining later.
  • Combine And Serve
Now it’s time to combine everything. Pour the brewed coffee into a large mug. Next, add the espresso shots on top. This creates a layered effect. Stir gently to mix the flavors.
    Optionally, you can add:
A splash of milk or cream for creaminess.
    Sugar or sweeteners to taste.
Cocoa powder for a mocha flavor.
Serve your Black Eye Coffee hot. Enjoy the rich, bold taste. This coffee is perfect for starting your day or as an afternoon pick-me-up. Share it with friends or enjoy it alone. Either way, you’ll love the flavor.
